Privacy policy
Clear about your data.
Effective date: 28 August 2026
Summary
ChannelGlow has no publisher account, advertising, analytics, or tracking. It connects directly from your device to the ThingSpeak service only when you request channel data. The developer does not receive or relay your channel credential or sensor feed.
Information handled by ChannelGlow
The app handles the channel ID you enter, an optional channel-level Read API Key for a private channel, local presentation preferences, and the channel metadata, timestamps, field values, and recent feed entries returned by ThingSpeak. A CSV file is created only when you explicitly request an export.
Network communication and service provider
ChannelGlow sends read-only HTTPS requests directly to api.thingspeak.com. For a private channel, its Read API Key is sent only to that host in the THINGSPEAKAPIKEY request header. ChannelGlow rejects redirects to a different host and never places a key in a URL, log, export, screenshot fixture, or accessibility label.
ThingSpeak is operated by The MathWorks, Inc. MathWorks processes requests under its own privacy policy and the service terms associated with your account.
Storage and security
A private Read API Key is stored in Apple Keychain with device-only protection. Non-secret channel profiles and display preferences are stored locally. One bounded last-successful response may also stay on the device so ChannelGlow can show clearly labelled cached information when offline.
Sharing, retention, and deletion
CSV exports contain only the downloaded feed window and do not intentionally contain credentials or request URLs. If you share an export with another app or service, that recipient's privacy practices apply.
Removing a saved channel removes its local profile, cached response, presentation settings, and saved Read API Key. It does not delete anything from ThingSpeak. Removing ChannelGlow deletes its application data subject to the operating system's normal behavior and your Apple backup settings.
Data collection, advertising, and tracking
The developer operates no ChannelGlow data server and receives no channel IDs, keys, or sensor feeds from the app. ChannelGlow contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or cross-app tracking SDK and does not sell personal information.
Your responsibility
You must have permission to access every channel you add and remain responsible for your ThingSpeak account, service limits, and applicable license. Do not place sensitive personal information in a channel unless you understand and accept how the service processes it.
Children and changes
ChannelGlow is a general-purpose sensor-data utility and is not directed to children. If the app's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the changed version is released.
